Health and care policy partnerships We work in partnership with others to better understand and analyse policy and performance in health and social care
We support a range of important collaborations with other organisations in the UK and internationally, which are furthering our policy work.
While many national organisations are monitoring the quality of care, the Nuffield Trust and the Health Foundation believe there is also a need for independent scrutiny by non-statutory bodies. QualityWatch is our joint research programme that monitors how the quality of health and social care is changing over time. It aims to strengthen and inform the work of other statutory national bodies and initiatives.
Sciana: The Health Leaders Network
Sciana is an initiative bringing together outstanding leaders in health and health care policy and innovation across Europe. It’s supported by a partnership between the Health Foundation (UK), Careum Stiftung (Switzerland) and the Robert Bosch Stiftung (Germany) in collaboration with Salzburg Global Seminar.
European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies
We are part of this international partnership hosted by the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. The European Observatory was established twenty years ago to support and promote evidence-based policymaking, with a focus on the design of health systems and health policy at national and international level.
The Commonwealth Fund, in collaboration with the Health Foundation and the National Institute for Health Research, supports Harkness Fellowships in Health Care Policy and Practice from the UK. Modelled after the Rhodes Scholarships, the Harkness Fellowships aim to produce the next generation of health policy leaders in participating countries.
