The REAL Challenge: Beyond crystal balls and COVID-19 - What we need to prepare the NHS and social care for the future (Friday 16 October)
Join us online for the inaugural REAL Challenge Lecture by Sir Andrew Dilnot which will outline how some of the key challenges in health and social care are exacerbated by a short-termist approach and why longer-term planning will help. Our expert respondents will then offer their replies to Sir Andrew’s remarks before all our speakers take part in a panel discussion.

Reducing avoidable harm in maternity care is vital. The Healthcare Improvement Studies Institute’s new study describes what safety in maternity units looks like using a seven-feature framework known as For Us.

Funding
Closing soon: Funding available for new social care analytics programme
The Health Foundation’s new Strengthening Social Care Analytics programme will offer funding to projects that can demonstrate how to use data analytics to improve social care and help to catalyse further change in the social care data analytics system by sharing their findings and methods with our community of practice. We will give up to £60,000 over 12 months to projects that will focus on addressing challenges to help the social care sector respond to COVID-19 and its aftermath.
Applications for expressions of interest are now open and the deadline is midday, Friday 2 October 2020.
