The Health Foundation responded to the Public Accounts Committee inquiry on local government spending.

In our submission we outline evidence on:

  • The key role of local authorities in maintaining and improving health
  • The extent of the pressures currently placed on local authorities, including the public health grant funding gap and adult social care funding pressures
  • The need for a cross-government approach to improve the population’s health.
