About me

Kheelna is a GenerationQ Fellow and a South London GP, a Medical Director for the London region, NHS England, and a Deputy Postgraduate Dean for the London region, Health Education England.

The Medical Directorate provides clinical leadership to London’s wider health care system, focusing on transformation, clinical priorities and statutory duties. Kheelna provides clinical leadership to the regional primary care workforce team, and is the clinical adviser team for South London, overseeing appraisal, revalidation and practitioner performance caseload.

She is on a split-post secondment with Health Education England, supporting education and training for one acute and three mental health trusts in South London. She is involved in developing a clinical fellows network for those in training.

Kheelna is providing clinical leadership for primary care workforce transformation across London, and aims to create an infrastructure and workforce that can readily adapt and flex to the needs of the population, delivering high-quality care to those that need it. The work requires wide stakeholder engagement, and the development of influential networks to invest in a collaborative approach to address a shared problem. She hopes GenerationQ will help her to successfully lead this transformation.

'I want to continuously improve across all my roles to improve health experience and outcomes for patients and continue to work smarter (not harder!) to maximise impact and influence others.

'I hope to build a better awareness of myself and my style of navigating complexity and influencing others, and hope to build tools to better lead teams and networks across organisations, in particular to bridge a disconnect felt by many between system leaders and frontline providers.'
